Small actions. Real change.
As educators, it has become increasingly difficult to come to work each day and feel safe. Mass shootings, and particularly school shootings, leave communities, families, and employees feeling unsettled and unsafe. It has become the responsibility of schools to combat these challenges through drills, extensive trainings, laborious safety measures, and policies and practices that do not allow educators to focus on teaching and to do their best work. We believe that this should not be the norm and that it is our responsibility to take steps to make change.

163
incidents of gunfire on school grounds in 2025
Even one shooting is too many, yet American schools continue to face gun violence at a rate unmatched anywhere in the world. Behind this number are students, educators, and communities who deserve better.
4 in 5
school shootings could have been interrupted — at least one person knew the attacker's plan
Prevention is possible, but it requires communities that feel empowered to speak up. Education and early intervention are among the most powerful tools we have to stop violence before it starts.
68%
of guns used in school shootings are taken from the home, a friend, or a relative
The path to gun violence in schools often begins at home, making safe storage and responsible ownership a critical part of the solution. Changing that starts with awareness, legislation, and communities willing to act.
